The outcome of your treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may, at times, result in considerable discomfort of emotions when processing situations. Sometimes remembering unpleasant events, and becoming aware of the emotions attached to these events, can bring on strong feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, etc. There are no miracle cures, however we will support and provide you with a high standard of care by actively listening to understand you and any behaviors that you strive to manage.

Your first session/s will involve an evaluation of your needs. While evaluation is ongoing, the initial phase of evaluation will result in a discussion of your therapy goals and recommendations about how you might reach those goals. You and I will work together to reach a shared understanding of root causes that may be contributing to reported concerns and problems. This information guides how you will move forward in resolving them.
-
As therapists, we are mandated reporters. Therefore we are required to report any safety concerns involving you or others who are at risk. This may include past, present and risk for future concerns. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), you have certain rights regarding the use and disclosure of your protected health information.
-
The frequency of your therapy depends on your level of care. This will be determined based on a co-creative relationship with you, your therapist, and anyone else you consider a member of your “team”.
The team includes your prescriber, PCP, natural supports, etc, who can help deepen our understanding of your needs. With your consent, the team will meet on an as needed basis to discuss and review your clinical needs and recommendations to best support the most efficient, cost-effective, and holistic experience.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes unless otherwise discussed with your provider.
-
We understand family members, partners and other natural supports may feel like an extension of yourself. Please discuss your desire to bring a support to your session(s) ahead of time with your provider. We will discuss the purpose and appropriateness of these sessions on a case by case basis.
-
As Licensed Mental Health Counselors, prescribing medication is outside of our scope of practice. If you are working with a prescriber, we encourage communication with them to best support you. If you are looking for a prescriber, we can provide referrals.

Insurance: We accept the following insurances: Cigna, Aetna and Optum. We also accept self-pay. We use Alma to verify your coverage. You may have a copay, a deductible or coinsurance). Or, you can call your insurance directly to verify the coverage.
Out-of-Network Coverage: Please contact your insurance company and ask them if they offer “Out-of-Network Coverage” for therapy.
Please note that sometimes mental health counseling is listed under behavioural health services. Some insurances cover a percentage of the out-of-network rate the therapist offers. For example: You pay Clinica Artesana LLC out of pocket directly. We provide you with a “superbill” - an invoice demonstrating what services you’ve paid for. You submit it to your insurance. Based on their policy, they may reimburse you in full or a percentage.
Self Pay: Through self-pay you are covering the full costs of your sessions. Please see the provider pages for our price range. Service costs vary on the type of therapy (individual, family, couples, etc), frequency and time. We offer sliding scale options for healthcare providers, teachers, military veterans, students and need-based. Sliding scale spots are limited. Please communicate your needs to your provider in the initial consultation.
